CpE Handbook: Free Electives

Wherever the term "Elective" (otherwise known as "free elective") occurs it is understood to mean the broadest possible choice of courses from the entire collection of credit courses at the University. The 2004-5 program includes a requirement of at least 10 credit hours of such electives. In order for a course to be counted as a free elective, it must not be substantially repetitious to any other course that will be used toward the degree. For this reason, it is recommended that an advisor’s opinion be sought in the selection of free electives.
