Xiao-Bang Xu joined Clemson University in 1985 and is
currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer
Engineering. He received the BS degree from Tsinghua University in
1968, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Mississippi in
1985, both in electrical engineering. He is a senior member of The
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member
of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, a member of IEEE
Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, and a member of Phi Kappa
Phi.
Dr. Xu's research interests are in applied electromagnetic
theory and numerical methods. He has been working on the
development of hybrid surface/volume integral equation methods and
the application of the hybrid finite element/boundary integral
equation method to the solution of scattering problems. The other
major component of his research is the application of the Fourier
series technique, unimoment method, and other numerical methods to
the analysis of extremely-low-frequency magnetic fields in which
nonlinear magnetic materials are involved. His research is
sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Electric
Power Research Institute (EPRI), Duke Power Company, and South
Carolina Electric and Gas Company.
